The Council heard Public Safety and Administrative reports and a Presentation of the FY 2007 Financial Statements and Independent Auditors’ Report and took the following actions: 

v     Approved an ordinance establishing fees, water rates, and requiring water meters in the town of ocean view

v     Approved an application submitted by the Estates of Fairway Village for amendment to its previously approved Fairway Village RPC

v     Approved the Salary Study of Town Managers

v     Approved A Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Ocean View in Support of Adoption of SB-4 in the Delaware General Assembly

v     Approved grant procedures for the Emergency Services Enhancement Fund

v     Approved the web site policies and procedures

v     Approved the Take-Home Policy for Police Vehicles

v     Approved Police Procedural Notice 1.3, Use of Force and Firearms Policy

v     Approved Police Procedural Notice 32.2.1, Background Investigations

v     Approved payment of incorporation fees for the Ocean View Historical Society

v     Approved participation by the Ocean View Police Department in the Delaware State Police Accreditation Program

v     Approved Town sponsorship of hole in a golf classic sponsored by the Village of Bear Trap Dunes Home Owners and the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club, which will benefit The Beebe Medical Center South Coastal Health Center Building Fund  

v     Approved Town participation in the State’s mosquito control service program

v     Awarded the contract for the Hudson Avenue Drainage Project to the Melvin Joseph Construction Co., Inc. in Georgetown

v     Set March 19^th at 7 p.m. as the date and time for “Candidates’ Night”

v     Introduced an ordinance to amend section 93-15 c. of the code, tax on rental properties

The Council also discussed the new DPW Facility and the progress of the Long-Term Capital Reserve Trust Fund Study
